Kevin Mertens Elected New County Party Chairman
Kevin Mertens was elected chairman of the Greenville County Democratic Party at the county convention held on March 10th. Mertens comes with plenty of political experience having worked for Sen. Fritz Hollings and two presidential campaigns in addition to running for city council. Mertens will lead the party together with other officers elected on March 10th: David Mitchell, was elected as first vice-chair; Stephanie Smith was elected second vice-chair; and John Tynan was elected third vice chair, beating out 4 other candidates.
The Greenville County Democratic Party (GCDP) is the local branch of the state and national Democratic Party.
